vulgo la Guinee, regio Aficae perampla, inter Nigrititam ad Bor. et mare Atlanticum ad Austr. et inter regnum Congi ad Ort. et montem Leonis ad Occas. Regio est abundans et fertilis, ab Ort. in Occas. valde extensa, et ab Europaeis admodum frequentata Dividitur in tres partes, nempe in Guineam propriam, in Malaguettam, quae ad Occas. et in regnum Benini ad Ort. In Guninea propria, quae media est inter Malaguettam et Beninum, sunt quamplurimae coloniae Anglorum, Danorum, Hollandorum, et Suecorum, cum arcibus aliquot, Loca autem praecipua in ora sunt aex S. Georgii de Mina, arx Nassovia, arx Capitis Corsi. Commendum, Anta, Fetum, et Cormentinum, Guinea autem propria dividitur in oram Auream, la Coste d'Or, oram Dentium, la Coste des Dents, et in oram Malaguettae, la Coste de Malguette. Vide Ora Aurea. Detecta autem fuit Guinea primo A. C. 1365. a Gallis, qui in illius ora habuêrunt aliquot colonias. Sed intestino sub Carolo VI. et VII. bello flagrante Galliâ, egregiae illorum spes interversae sunt, iisque, de quibus supra, aditus patefactus est.
